Eric White

Nina Nolte

Pale ladies bathing in  brightly colored turbans… strange topic for a series of paintings, but I love the result. Check out more here.

Lucas Foglia

“Since 2006 I have traveled throughout the southeastern United States, befriending, photographing, and interviewing a network of people who left cities and suburbs to live off the grid. Motivated by environmental concerns, religious beliefs, or predictions of economic collapse, my subjects build their homes from local materials, obtain their water from nearby springs, and hunt, gather, or grow their own food.

All the people in my photographs are working to maintain a self-sufficient lifestyle, but no one I found lives in complete isolation from the mainstream. Many of my subjects have websites that they update using laptop computers, and cell phones that they charge on car batteries or solar panels. They do not wholly reject the modern world. Instead, they step away from it and choose the parts that they want to bring with them.” –Lucas Foglia

Kirsten Lepore

I cannot imagine animating that much snow (without it involving frost bite.) Check out Kirsten Lepore’s interview over at Cartoon Brew.

Liebemarlene Vintage

I just need to say that I cannot get over this fox sweater. I have gone back to it approximately a hundred times this week to try to figure out how to make one. Oof.

Via Liebemarlene Vintage where there are all sorts of pretty things.

Maurizio Anzeri

It took me all of 2 seconds to fall for these pieces by Maurizio Anzeri. So so pretty.

Kate Bush

I don’t usually post about music, but this song is too pretty, and that dance is too cool.

[thanks Alex]

Octavio Cavieres

Mixed Media by Ocatvio Cavieres. That first one makes me especially happy.

Joanne Young

We all know how much  I love drawings of birds (almost too much) so I had some trouble deciding which of Joanne Young’s illustrations to choose. Check out even more illustrations here.
